The Eye's of John (Master Chief eye's enhanced) by Billy619 The Eye's of John (Master Chief eye's enhanced) by Billy619
Master Chief eye's enhanced. Original from Halo 4 Legendary ending.

I Don't know if the blood/bruises are that pronounced but it shows how beat up he is. You can also see scars on him and he looks mad.

I did not add anything just color correction brightening and sharpening.

**THIS IS REALLY FROM THE GAME**

We shouldn't rush to judgement about the Master Chief's face. This is an actual picture from the game and it is John-117, and I admit, I was shocked at first, mostly because he looked like voldemort or an opus dei monk at first glance. :iconbilly619: is'nt making this up, and I believe him 100...no 1000%. He may have a beard, he may be clean shaven (which is most likely, given that most military men are clean shaven anyway), he may be disfigured, or (and this is a pretty interesting theory), due to the Librarian's gift, he may have Forerunner features for all we know. What matters is that whatever he looks like, he will still be the John-117 we know and love (or hate or are apathetic about, depending on allegiances).

Also, to :iconbilly619:. This is just an opinion, so don't take this seriously, but to me John-117 just looks fatigued from over many decades of war, as most soldiers are. But then again, he did lose Cortana, his personal AI construct and, let's face it, soulmate. He's been through a ton.

I don't see how Cortana is his soulmate, though. Spartans-II have no interest for a romantic relationship, and Cortana, as smart as she can be, remains a mere AI.

Well it's been implied

It was never implied. Never. Unless you can objectively prove me otherwise with plain facts, it's just how you interpreted it. And facts are, Spartans-II such as John CAN'T feel romantic love because they've been biologically modified to suppress that feeling. Simple as that. All there is to John and Cortana's relationship is a close friendship, nothing more, nothing less.

How else are we suppose to interpret it? It's been consistently shown throughout the Halo series that John and Cortana's relationship becomes more and more romanticized. He's wholly dependent on her, and in the trailer to Halo 5 we see John holding Cortana's old computer chip thingy in his hand, so he's obviously on a serious search for her, or gravely mourns her loss. Through facts found between the games and books, we're now aware that John isn't a normal Spartan. He's got a forerunner imprint on him, and that could totally set him apart from other spartans, as well as other HUMANS. So, it's possible he is capable of romantic feelings after all.

Besides, one thing you have to remember is that Cortana is the digital imprint of Catherine Halsey, who obviously has strong feelings towards John and has favored him other many other Spartans throughout the games and books. So, it's my opinion that it's possible that John and Catherine share an in-person bond with one another. Whether that's friendly, romantic, or maybe even a mother-son kind of bond isn't 100%. But it's VERY clear throughout ALL of the games and books that John's feelings for Cortana are incredibly strong. Spartans may not be able to have ROMANTIC love for another person, but that doesn't mean John is incapable of loving Cortana, even as his best friend. Clearly his feelings for her are well beyond simple friends or because they've shared so much together throughout all the games.

What you have to ask yourself is this: if Spartans are so incapable of love, then why does John care for Cortana so much? The same could be said for Artificial Intelligence, that they're merely computer programs and are incapable of caring for a human being. But obviously the feelings they have for one another are mutual. Like in the ending to Halo 3, when John is about to seal himself into cyro-sleep Cortana says softly "I'll miss you.." and John responds by saying "Wake me, when you need me." I think every Halo fan heard that line and knew that John didn't just mean that Cortana should wake him when he was needed for battle, but when she was feeling lonely and wanted him to talk to.

If there is absolutely no romantic relationship between Cortana and John, then Bungie AND 343 Industries have tried pretty hard to make the fans believe there IS a romantic relationship between them. Just take a look at this clip, from the ending of Halo 4 (OBVIOUS SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME). It's possible to dictate from the clip that maybe JOHN doesn't have strong romantic feelings for Cortana, but when Cortana touches John's chest in the clip, she says "*sigh* I've waited so long to do that." If you can watch this clip and tell me you don't feel ANY romantic or sexual tension between them, then you're just crazy... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kgo-PY…

lol that's the biggest block of bullshit I've ever read, you're the one being crazy and imagining stuff that doesn't exist. Science demonstrated that John can't feel any romantic interest, keep your shoddy theories to yourself.

Being crazy? I'm simply analyzing the games and books to bring forth information and theories. You're the one being an asshole. Funny how you use the argument that I'm "being crazy and imagining stuff that doesn't exist" when this whole story is set in a fucking fictional universe... so NONE of this actually exists. You told user YarTavdhladleklwa that unless he/she could back up his claim with "actual facts" then his theory is based on his own interpretation. Well, I brought forth plenty of facts from the games and books to prove how a romantic connection could be possible between Chief and Cortana and you didn't even bother to remark on any of those possible theories, you just went straight to dick mode. This was meant to be a discussion but I guess that flew over your head. If you're not going to even engage in at least disproving my theories with other information from the series, then you can shut the fuck up. Simply saying "that's not true", but not explaining why, means you don't have any clue what you're talking about.

lol nope, not going to engage any or your remarks because I know I'm right. And if you want me to shut the fuck up, well, make me ;) the simple fucking FACT that Chief had any biological impulsion removed is REASON ENOUGH to disprove everything that you said. Period.

He's a fucking Spartan-II, no one wants some fucking cheesy romance story in Halo. No one cares about THAT but you.
